Cheri Barr Taylor
Director of Nursing

Cheri brings 40+ years of experience as a Critical Care Nurse, Critical Care Director, and Chief Nursing Officer. She has an Associate Degree in Nursing from El Centro College, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the UT Arlington, and a Master of Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University. Both of Cheri's daughters are RNs, her husband is retired and her beloved grandson is studying to be a firefighter/paramedic. Her experience in critical care settings is invaluable when assessing residents with a change in condition. “My goal is to ensure the people at Van Healthcare receive outstanding care and are the happiest folks in Van Zandt County!"

Donna Pena brings 20+ years of experience in long term care settings. She is committed to ensuring your family member gets the best possible care. She is a long time resident of East Texas. Donna has worked in skilled nursing facilities for most of her career through out East Texas. Donna enjoys making deco-mesh based wreaths and attending renaissance festivals. Donna is a nurse dedicated to the up most care and needs of your loved one. Business Office Manager
A lifelong resident of Tyler, Texas, Blinda worked over 20 years in the healthcare industry. She moved to Van three years ago and takes care of her mother. Blinda last worked in healthcare as a Stop Loss Analyst and has knowledge with medical insurance and coding. Prior to healthcare, she worked as a Customer Service Representative and Benefits Coordinator. Blinda enjoys spending time with her mom and has a passion to serve the senior community.
Marynell Elgin has been a licensed social worker since 1986, She brings 25+ years of professional experience in case management, nursing home, hospice, medical social work and state agency healthcare. Marynell's passion has always been in advocacy for seniors based upon her personal experience as a care giver for her parents and family members at home and in nursing facilities. She plays a vital role as our social worker and voice for the residents at Van Healthcare.
Connie Fields has been a long time employee with Van Healthcare. She started out in the housekeeping department and was awarded "Employee of the Month" in her first two months of service. Fields quickly moved up to head the department as the Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor. In October 2013, Fields earned her Activity Director Certification from Kilgore College. She has served as the Activity Director for Van Healthcare since 2013.
Rhonda has 25+ years of experience in long term care settings. She started as a Certified Nurse Aide with Van Healthcare. Over her career, she also held positions in the Housekeeping, Laundry, Maintenance, and Dietary departments. Ellis rejoined Van Healthcare in 2010 as a Dietary Aide in the Housekeeping and Dietary departments. In April 2013, Ellis started her Dietary Manager Certification Course. Within one month, she was award the certification and was promoted as Dietary Manager. Rhonda serves the local community by providing meals for the Van Lions Club and Kiwanis Club.
